Quote a message

A longer chat often wanders through more than one topic. Sometimes you want to follow-up on a message that’s long ago, and this is easier to do when DentroChat can see which message you mean. Quoting a message points DentroChat at that part of the conversation, so DentroChat knows exactly what you’re referring to.

You can quote a message from DentroChat as well as your own messages.

On a computer

Hover over the message you want to quote and click the quotation mark (Reply). Hover over a message and the reply button will appear below it.

Click this button, and a “quote” appears above the message box. It is labelled DentroChat when you quoted a reply, or You when you quoted yourself, and it shows the text of that message. Write your follow-up underneath and send it just like any normal DentroChat message. The quote stays on the message you sent, so you can see later which part of the chat it referred to.

Click the quote to jump to the original message, the same way you scroll back to a message you replied to in a chat with friends. The × beside the quote removes the quote again, useful when you quoted the wrong message for example.

On a phone

On a phone, tap the message and choose Reply. Write your follow-up there and send it, or tap the × if you change your mind.
