Upload images and files
Attach a photo, a PDF, or another document and ask about it in the same message. The file stays with that chat, stored in Europe with the rest of the conversation.
You can type the question or dictate it.
Add a file

Attach files is the paperclip button at the right of the message box, next to the microphone. It opens the file picker.
You can also drag and drop files onto the chat. While you drag, the page shows Drop files here.
Paste works too. A screenshot pastes as an image. Files copied from the file manager paste as attachments.
Caveat: when pasting multiple files in Firefox, it only pastes the first copied file. To add more, drop the files, or use the Attach files paperclip button to add the rest. Chromium browsers, such as Chrome and Vivaldi, paste every copied file.
A preview appears above the box. Click the × on a preview to take that file off before you send.
Limits
One message takes up to 6 files. Each file can be up to 40 MB. The account holds 1 GB of files in total, across every chat. That includes files you upload and files DentroChat creates. When that fills up, delete files you no longer need and try again.
A file in a format DentroChat cannot take is skipped (you’ll see an error toast).
Photos are reduced before upload so the longest side is at most 1600 pixels. Animated GIFs stay intact, so every frame remains. Less common photo formats, such as HEIC from an iPhone, are converted in the browser where possible.
What you can ask about
Photos and screenshots in JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Ask what is in the picture, or to transcribe the text from the image.
PDFs. DentroChat reads the text in the file. A scan with no text layer is read as an “image” by DentroChat. Also, tell DentroChat to “look” at a PDF if there are charts or other visual data that’s not text.
Word, PowerPoint, and OpenDocument files: .docx, .pptx, .odt, and .odp.
Spreadsheets in .xlsx or .ods. Rows and columns stay intact, so you can ask for a total, a comparison, a chart, etc.
Text, including notes, Markdown, CSV, and code.
For a video on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, or Facebook, paste the link. DentroChat uses the video’s captions, including automatic captions. An audio or video file you attach shows up as a file in the message. Click it to play it in the preview.
Find a file again
Every upload, and every file DentroChat creates in the chat, is in the Workspace. The Workspace button sits above the message box and shows the file count. Open it to preview or download.
Click a file in the workspace, on one of your messages, or in a reply to open it in the chat. Images, PDFs, audio, video, text, and office documents open there. Download is at the bottom of the preview. Text previews also have Copy.
A follow-up in the same chat can refer to a file you already sent. You do not need to attach it again.
Remove a file
When clicking Delete on a workspace file or in its preview, you’ll be asked for a second click to confirm the deletion. The file leaves the workspace, and older download links stop working. Be careful, this cannot be undone.
Viewers of a shared link can preview and download files.
