Start a discreet chat
In case you have DentroChat’s memory enabled, some conversations are better left out of what DentroChat remembers. You might want to ask or discuss a topic that you don’t want to surface in future conversations. A discreet chat is isolated from AI memory, so it does not become part of DentroChat’s background knowledge.
You can switch it on from the chat itself or from the sidebar.
From the chat

The button at the top right opens the chat actions. In a chat that already has messages, it is the grid button. In a new chat, it is the eye button, which opens the discreet chat dialog directly. Choose Discreet chat, then switch on Discreet mode. A closed-eye icon appears next to the chat’s name in the sidebar.
From the sidebar

Hover over the chat and click the three-dot button on the right. Choose Discreet chat and switch on Discreet mode. The closed-eye icon beside the name shows that the chat is now discreet.
What a discreet chat changes
Memory lets DentroChat bring context from earlier chats into a new one. A discreet chat sits outside that system. It cannot “read” other chats nor the existing memory, and other chats cannot read it and nothing is written to memory from it. It also stays out of AI search and memory even if you enable memory or search in Preferences later.
The chat still works like any other. Your messages are saved, and you can reopen it from the sidebar and use Find in this chat as usual. When you switch Discreet mode off, DentroChat can use the chat for memory again.
On a phone
On a phone, open the chat and use the top-right button, or open the sidebar from the menu button at the top left and tap the three-dot button beside the chat. Choose Discreet chat and switch it on. The closed-eye icon appears next to the name.
