Pin a conversation

Some chats stay useful long after you start them. A project brief or a chat you use for a recurring task is easy to lose once newer conversations push it down. Pin the chat, and it stays at the top of your list.

You can pin a chat from the chat itself or from the sidebar.

From the chat

A cursor opens the chat actions at the top right and chooses Pin. The chat moves to the top of the sidebar with a pin beside its name.

The grid button at the top right of the conversation opens the chat actions. Choose Pin, and the current chat moves to the top of your conversation list. A small pin appears next to its name.

From the sidebar

A cursor opens the options on a chat in the sidebar and chooses Pin. The chat moves to the top of the list with a pin beside its name.

Hover over the chat in the sidebar and click the three-dot button that appears on the right. Choose Pin from the menu, and the chat moves to the top of the list, marked with a pin.

What pinning does

Pinning lifts the chat above your recent chats, so it is easy to find even when the list gets long. Everything in the chat stays as it is. If you pin more than one chat, the most recently updated one comes first.

To unpin a chat, open the same menu from the chat or from the sidebar and choose Unpin. It goes back to its place among your recent chats.

On a phone

On a phone, the sidebar is a drawer that you open from the menu button at the top left. You can pin the open chat with the grid button at the top right, or pin any chat from the drawer by tapping the three-dot button beside it. Open the same menus to unpin.
